How it works

An examination of the breast with Bexa is quick, painless, involves no radiation and provides women with an immediate result. Bexa is small and portable allowing Bexa exams to be performed anywhere a woman can be examined privately.

Bexa’s advanced, unique proprietary capacitive sensor array collects data about abnormal tissues based upon their elastic nature - how firm they are compared to surrounding tissue. These differences in tissue firmness are captured digitally when the Bexa sensor array is pressed gently against the surface of the breast. No radiation or energy of any sort is emitted by the Bexa device.

Bexa can fully integrate the evaluation of breast masses using focused B-mode ultrasound, adding critical data to the evaluation and classification of abnormal breast masses and dramatically reducing an already low need for additional imaging studies.  This combines the high sensitivity of Bexa elastography with the specificity of structural ultrasound to produce a 15 minute, very accurate breast examination.

What makes Bexa so unique?

Sensor array

Bexa is a new medical device that employs pressure elastography to produce high resolution images of abnormal breast tissue and masses, and collects data about the nature, size, and location of abnormal breast masses.  Detecting abnormal masses is a highly effective means of detecting invasive breast cancer.

Ultrasound integration

Bexa adds and fully integrates high frequency linear ultrasound (5-15 MHz) images of abnormal breast masses into a consolidated, data-rich breast tissue evaluation.

Women First

Our focus is upon outcomes, not just technology.  Improving adoption is a primary priority in most countries where the majority of women either cannot access or refuse to engage traditional technologies.  Technology or processes that aren’t adopted don’t change outcomes.  Locations that intimidate women further impair adoption.  That’s why we work to create an early detection option that women will adopt, that can be deployed in locations that encourage engagement.  We complement our focus upon adoptable technology with investment in creating communication programs that inform and empower women, rather than frightening them.  We work to tailor the Bexa offering & communications to adapt to cultural expectations, and to local healthcare infrastructure.  We provide an offering that is affordable in every country, every healthcare economy.  And we provide a solution that enhances the value that primary care providers can deliver to their female patients who otherwise risk unnecessary late-stage diagnoses.

AI Driven Continuous Evolution

All Bexa elastography and ultrasound data is automatically fed into our proprietary ML/AI engine which is continuously improving our image analysis and anomaly-detection algorithms.

SureView

All Bexa devices operate within a secure, HIPAA/HITECH-compliant, cloud-based ecosystem, SureView, which provides device management and continuous quality monitoring while contributing de-identified clinical data to a unique instance of the world’s most powerful clinical research database.  SureView has been specifically designed to enable and support large scale national and population-based early detection programs - implementation, training, quality oversight, device management and more.

Understand our foundation

Bexa is a Class II FDA cleared (K181672) Class II medical device that is currently indicated for the documentation of masses discovered on a breast examination. Multiple U.S. clinical studies either completed or nearing completion define the power of a breast exam with Bexa to discover abnormal masses, and to drive social change and economic impact that result from women’s consistently high adoption of breast exams with Bexa. For more information about the clinical performance of Bexa, contact our clinical team. Detail of our FDA clearance can be found here.
